Jora was staring at the small person, sitting on her right knee. She couldn't believe what she was just hearing. The human who was looking at her, as so small, so soft … but Jora knew how dangerous this woman could be, she knew Viola and her powers.
She had learned this fact on the hard way when she tried to catch and eat the wizard and failed with the result, that she was shrunken by Viola and close to end like her own preys before. And now this person was sitting on her knee, looking at her and speaking these words:

“I want to become your friend.”

Jora wasn't sure why, but this sentence sounded scary and very unusual for such a person that was close to kill her. With disbelief, and still a little sleepy because it was deepest night, she stared at Viola.
Her mind needed some moments before she began to realize that this was definitely not a dream and now her lips began to move, the words came out of her mouth.

“You … what?! Why … should ..?” she wasn't even able to articulate a whole sentence and the whole shocked face seemed to change something in Viola's expression and this was also strange.

She seemed to be hurt, her eyes became a little smaller, not with anger, it seemed like she was … sad? The young human woman took a deep breath, she still didn't move, was just standing at Jora's right knee.

“I know I wasn't very nice to you, and I'm sorry … but in the end I brought you to somebody I knew he would help you. I know it sounds strange that I'm telling you this … and for the reason; I'm asking you because you are … different.” her voice sounded a little calculated but there was at least this special tone in the last part of her sentence.

Jora blinked three times, this HAD to be some kind of a strange dream. “Different? I mean … you are a human that is more powerful than many predators here and you're coming to me to be my … friend … because I'm different?!
What do you mean?” Jora wanted to add that all this made no sense and it was crazy but she didn't know how Viola would acting after such a comment and she didn't want to be shrunken again.

Viola for herself was breathing out and shook her head. “First of all, I'm not a human … second, yes I want to become your friend because you are different. I hesitated very long before I entered your cave and I still don't know exactly how to explain it to you, but you're special … your position, your acting ...” she looked like she wanted to add something but she just raised her shoulder.

This explanation didn't help very much to made Jora less confused. She opened her mouth for a few seconds closed it and opened it again “No … human?” she was just asking with disbelief.
“You're looking like a human … you ARE a human ...” but before she could continue Viola raised one hand and Jora suddenly stopped talking, she didn't know why she had so much respect for the wizard but it seemed that this respect was deserved.

“I think … it's better to … show you something than explaining it. After this, you will be a little more wiser I hope … and maybe you will understand what I'm going to tell you then.”

Jora wanted to ask WHAT Viola wanted to show her but the wizard just waved with one hand, stared into Jora's eyes and this strange feeling of unconsciousness began to overrun her before everything became dark again.

-------------------

When Jora opened her eyes, she was sitting at the ground of a small room. There was a bed, a desk and a bookcase and a young girl was sitting on a chair, staring out of a window. Jora looked up to her.

“Men, what's going on? Hey you … who are you and did you see a young woman that looks similar to yo...” and she stopped before she finished her own sentence.

The girl didn't reply, she didn't seem to even notice Jora and in the same moment the young giantess began to realize that the girl was Viola or a younger version of her. She was maybe twelve years old, her expression was thoughtful while she was looking out of the window.
Jora followed her view and she could see a very big tree outside of the house. She just wanted to examine the rets of the room, when suddenly the door opened and an older man stepped in. He was maybe fifty years old, his hair was already gray and a stern expression was on his face. His gray eyes wandered to Viola and he harrumphed himself.

“Are you still daydreaming, daughter? I told you that you have to read your books! Your exam will start soon and you don't want to bring again shame to your family, won't you?” the question was only rhetorical, Jora could hear this.

The younger version of Viola just turned her head beside to him. “You are not my father … and the woman you married isn't my mother. And the two children playing downstairs and hating me aren't my sisters …”

The older man began to breath faster. “Not again! Why do you say such things?! Do you want me to become loud again, DO YOU WANT ME TO DO THIS? What are you thinking?” he was yelling now but Viola seemed to stay calm.

“I know it because I've dreamed it, I know it because there is one fact; parents love their children, and you don't love me. You hate me because I don't do what you two are expecting, because I'm different than those tow mindless girls downstairs that are always smiling to you because they fear you and your wife.” she explained in a very formal tone and this seemed to be enough.

The old man was yelling something again, he stepped to Viola, took his belt and started to hit her. Jora tried to stop him but she couldn't and in this moment she knew that this all happened before and there was no way to change anything.

The scenario was changing within seconds, Jora was now standing outside the house at the great tree. It was night but the darkness was enlightened by something. When Jora was looking for the source she could see Viola standing there.
She was older now, a teenager, 16 years old maybe and she was standing in front of the house … in front of the burning house. The fire was reflected by her eyes and she was just staring. But the most scary fact was, that Viola began to speak .. but nobody was there … and finally Jora realized that Viola was speaking to her.

“I had to do it. From my twelfth birthday I knew I was different, and they showed me every day I wasn't a part of them. I killed them all, I brought that fire into their house just because of my will. It was the first step on a path I should maybe regret … a path that cost my humanity I think. Let's go ...I have much to show you.”

Jora expected that everything would become dark but she was just standing on the top of a big hill. She didn't recognize the area but Viola was standing beside her. Now she was a little older again.
She was an adult now, a young adult, and looking at a person that was standing in front of her and Jora. He wore a robe and his long, white hair was falling over his shoulders. The most interesting fact was, that he had golden eyes. Jora seemed to be slipped into a running conversation.

“... and that's why you were raised by these … humans. It wasn't the bets decision and it seems like it was a mistake but well, we can't change time.” the man said with an unaffected tone.

“I'm not a human … so what I'm and why nobody told me? Where are my parents?! You just vanished just to tell me I'm not a human, I'm something “special” and that I'll have a great future in front of me … but you didn't tell me anything that could help me! Answer!”
Viola's voice was extremely harsh and Jora could recognize some tears floating down her cheek. The eyes of the young woman were narrowed and a passion was burning inside them.

The man was raising one hand. “Oh calm down girl. I'll give you some explanations … first of all; your parents … well I think that's a point I can't explain to you, sorry but you wouldn't be able to understand it with your simple mind … but don't worry we will fix this. Soon you won't be as simple as a human anymore … for the first question. Well to use the … common language of this low creatures called human you are a …  demigod.”

Jora's mouth opened and also Viola seemed to be stunned. “A … a demigod? But .. how? This … can't be possible … I'm a human ...” but she was interrupted by the laughing of the other man. It was a arrogant laughing.

“Oh silly silly little girl. You are really as simple and stupid as a human. I have a lot of work to do … well … in the end it will be worth twice. You are looking like a human, yes, because we wanted you to look like one.
You should raise among them so that you were able to understand them better than I do … I really need somebody in my ranks that knows more about this low life forms … they are too many to just ignore them.”

“Your … ranks? You have a lot of work to do? What are you talking about?”

Now the man seemed to become impatience. “You aren't very clever, huh?! You will come with me, I'll teach you to use your powers and you will, well, become one of my higher admirals or something … you will serve me like the other do.”

“Why do you think I should want to follow you?” Viola asked him and her eyes became suddenly narrow. “You are talking of me like I'm something lower than you, but it seems you need me …”

The man laughed out loud. “Why I think this? Because you have no choice. You need me to learn more about your power and without my … you are nothing. So be a nice little girl and come with me.”

“Go to hell.” Viola just replied and the man now blinked.

“What did you say?! You have to follow my command! Didn't you listen?! Without me you are helpless and you won't be able to survive! SO NOW FOLLOW!” he yelled the last part but Viola just turned and left him alone.

Jora followed her and while they were walking away Viola began to talk again to her. “He was a demigod too … Samiel was his name. He told me what I'm, the daughter of a god and a human. I was alone with this knowledge but I didn't follow him, he wanted to use my powers, he didn't want to help me in any way.”

Now many scenes began to switch around; cities, people, rooms, hills, wastelands, Jora was just able to see them for seconds while Viola was continuing. “I wandered through the world, I wanted to ignore this but I couldn't.
Samiel wanted to kill me, he feared me for some reasons and I was forced to learn more about my powers. Most time I had to learn it on the hard way, but the more I was able to understand my own spirit and my might the more I changed. You will see … I promise.”

Again everything changed and Jora was standing beside Viola who was now as old as she current was. Her eyes were stern, cold and there was no sign of this passion she realized before. A young man was walking toward her, bowed and began to talk.

“Mistress, I've arranged everything … the soldiers, the people they all are ready for the final battle. They pray to you, they are willing to die in your name! We will be the winner, victory will be our! But the people want that you speak to them … “

Viola just nodded and walked toward, now Jora realized that they were standing inside a very big room and Viola was stepping out on a balcony. The young giantess followed her and what she was able to see let her gasp.

Not thousand … no hundred thousands of people were standing below her, cheering when she stepped out and for a few Viola was smiling satisfied before she raised her voice the first time and a shiver went over her body when she heard this cold and stern voice …

“PEOPLE! Today the great day of your victory has come!” and everybody began to cheer louder “Today you all have the honor to fight a fight for me, for your goddess! We will destroy Samiel, we will bring back peace, we will become the winner! Do not hesitate to sacrifice you for the greater good! For our future, for our fame …!” and she turned back to step inside the room.

Jora couldn't believe what she was just hearing and as she stepped back Viola was sitting on a chair. “It was the beginning of a crusade against Samiel … a crusade that should last centuries ...”

And now Jora found herself on a plateau far in the sky. Viola was standing in front of Samiel who was kneeing and bleeding. He was injured and his breath was slowly.

“You've won … you've finally made it … but for what?” he asked, his voice wasn't more than a whisper.

“For what … you really ask me for what? Centuries of fighting and now I've reached eternity! I will walk through the time without the fear of dying … without a threat like you. This war was long, but in the end I was the winner and now I'll take my prize!” Viola replied in a cold tone.

“Prize? What … kind of prize …?” the man was coughing some blood at his own feet “... what did you win? You've lost everything … you don't know your family anymore, you have no friends, you never felt love …. and you never will … is this your big prize? To walk through the worlds until the end of time?”

“Fool … unlike you I will learn every secret about this universe, I'll be able to fulfill my dreams! I don't need my family! I've sworn to fight against you and I won! In the end you will drive back to hell or wherever you belong!
I didn't started this war! You made the first step and now you are regretting it!” Viola was now shouting, her soft hands were balled to fists.

“I .. was a fool … yes. I'm sorry that … couldn't let you exist beside me … that I destroyed everything … but … in the end I know one thing now: Even if I will drive to hell … one day I'll find my peace, you won't. And that's why I feel mercy for y...” but he couldn't finish his sentence.
Viola suddenly stretched out her right hand and a wall of fire was slamming against the kneeing man, his whole body began to burn, he was screaming in pain and finally he felt down without any life inside his body.

Viola turned back and looked at Jora. “I've won the war … but he was right. What was the prize? The people I lead into  the fight were nearly wiped out, only few survived and I began to realize that I became like Samiel … at all points. And in this moment I realized this … I vanished from the surface, I never wanted to turn back to the people I ruined and so I began to wander around again, with the knowledge that I will never die and these memories will follow me forever. I tried to find some friends … and after years it seemed to work but n the end they changed too much when I was too long beside them ...” and she waved with one hand and Jora woke up.

-------------------

When Jora opened her eyes again she was back in her cave and Viola was sitting at her knee. She looked terrible, weak and taken along. “Now you know my story … my origin.
You are asking me why I want to become your friend? You are powerful, you have your principles … you have a strong will … and you are not a human. You've impressed me and … I just want you … no I beg you … please help me to become what I was once … a human.”

The giantess couldn't really believe what she was just hearing and what she was seeing.

She just wanted to answer as she heard a voice from the cave entry. “I've found you ...” and as Jora blinked to the entry she saw a familiar face; the red haired human that had helped her to become normal sized again, the friend of this mage Sanix.

Now Viola blinked confused as she recognized Trisha. “What are you doing here?” she asked and the small human stepped forward.

“I need your help ...”

Hours later Trisha was leaving the cave again, and Jora and Viola were alone again. The giantess stared at Viola. She had made a decision.

“I will help you … no … I will become your friend ...” she said and the first time she was able to see Viola smiling in a happy way. This would become interesting.

And here is another story that explains a lot more about Viola ;)

I excuse myself for the abrupt ending but it is necesarry. From this point on the story will break into two ways; The search of Trisha and the relationship between Viola and Jora and for the sake of the story telling I had to let out some details from the ending.

I really hope you like the story and some facts are more clear now :)

Of course you will learn a little more about Viola within the future too
